WRUI
Listen to the gorgeous beauties Amy and Glenn straight from the University of Rhode Island HERE. Tune in Sundays 6-8 PM EST (so that's 4-6 PM here on the west coast). The song selection is bound to put a smile on your face and broaden your horizons. Be happy and "hit me with music, harder. brutalize me with music" Bob Marley
SATC
Patricia Field is a genius. I just watched Sex and the City for probably the 17th time last night and even though my fashion senses are always satisfied, I really put my focus on the clothes and I guess because it's been like a year since it came out, I started realizing just HOW influential the style in this movie has been on present trends. And here are the photos to prove it:
fur, sequined everything, booties
mens' wear inspired
cut out shoes (that Eiffel Tower bag by Timmy Woods is cool, too)
studded everything and knee-high/over-the-knee socks, socks & cut-out heel combo
alright maybe this isn't a trend right now but Proenza Schouler never disappoints
sequins, sequins, sequins!
the maxi dress that was ever so popular this past summer
and finally, big chunky scarves with leather jackets!
Thanks Patricia!
PS - I've been looking up pictures for SATC2 and I regret to inform you that we should be expecting an appearance by Miley Cyrus and A BUTT TON of 80's looks. Although Samantha Jones pulls it off so kick ass!

Post-20
So my birthday passed not too long ago and dressing for it was a lot of fun. I guess it's very plain, nothin' to it really, but whatevs.
Me: Preview buckled booties :) Nordstrom Rack; skirt and necklaces Forever 21; grey zipper-pocket-boob 3/4 sleeve top from a kiosk on campus.
Cassie: all Forever 21 (I believe)
Melissa: shoes Steve Madden
Margaret: shoes Ross
Kristin: skirt H&M; sleeveless top and belt Mom's
Red Velvet Cheesecake - OH MY GOD.
This smile is pretty ridiculous. My hair doesn't look like that anymore.

Garbage
So this blog is supposed to be dedicated to fashion, yadda yadda yadda, but too bad. Art, interior design, books and other creative and artsy fartsy things will pass through here, too, and I don't know why I feel the need to announce it? but I just wanted to make that point I guess.
These are all paintings by Rachel Maxi and I don't know about you but I think they are AMAZING. I can't get over how real the van looks and the fact that a painting of something so ordinary and dirty and gnarly can come out so beautiful and sentimental and impressive. One man's trash is another man's treasure, eh?

GA GA OOH LA LA
Have you seen the "Bad Romance" video by Lady Gaga yet? Well you should. And I don't say that because of the music - I say it because of Alexander McQueen. She debuted the song during his Spring 2010 show, so I'm not too surprised at this continued collaboration, but I do wish she didn't tweet that shit, because if she hadn't, the show would have been streaming live on some website for all the world to, ahem, go GAGA over!...but HEY that's old news right? Water under the bridge? Right? RIGHT? No one is STILL upset about that? Well, anyway, keep your eyes out for:
UHMMMMM HELLO, his Armadillo shoes? And ps - these next two pictures show her entire head-to-toe outfit she wore while singing ""walk walk, fashion baby, work it move that bitch crazy."
(all style.com)
That's right, she wore all of this couture and definitely more that I didn't spot. But oh my god, what a lucky little lady! Now go watch it all in action:

Black
It really is all about styling, because I'm positive that if I saw those sparkly sequins shorts anywhere else, I'd probably hate them. But she is a goddess and I've been wondering how they can be so short but always look so friggin' tall with model thin legs? Why couldn't I be that blessed?
On a side note - I had to turn down the job offer with Forever 21 for maybe next year when I'm not so busy? Yeah right. Since I'm not 21, I couldn't style backstage tonight at the W Hotel for Moody Blues - lame. I wasn't able to assist in styling at the magazine cover shoot today because I had to work 9-5 like a real adult. I attended the grand opening for H&M, which had a very unnecessary and dirty red carpet along with three news stations. But I did get a bunch of accessories and skirt all for a whopping $24, ow ow! Maybe picture later of all the stuffs. And I have too many magazines and newspaper articles to tend to.
P.S. So a while ago I saw Rajni do a short clip comparing the Balenciaga (left) vs. Sam Edelman (right) and personally, I think the Sam Edelman one's are a lot more attractive but that's also because they look, and most likely are, more functional. One girl was trying the bad boys on at Bloomingdale's on Broadway in Soho and...I...died. Anyway, I saw them on the Urban Outfitters website and just kind of giggled a little. And I could have been the new proud owner of Coach boots that were GORGEOUS and finally, the feeling of real quality leather goodness, but of course, unlike what Drake may think, money IS the issue. It went from $200, to $250 and then jumped up again to $300 at which point I had to stop and run away before I broke the bank/my boyfriend.

So I'm starting to fall in love with fashion editorial. Everyday at work I basically wait until no one is looking just so I can read the style section in the WSJ, sneak W and Nylon and College Times in the mix, and study the reviews on Style.com. I want to stay in the realm of styling, OBVI, but I've been contemplating Journalism as a major. It's too bad I'm in love with all the classes for Psychology, otherwise this would be an easy decision. I mean, I declared a minor in Public Relations and Strategic Communications, which is great considering I'd be taking marketing classes, but they're on the West campus, which means nothing to you if you don't go to my school, so long story short, commuting is a royal pain.

Explosions - It's Natural To Be Afraid
These are two separate thoughts but I figured I'd post them together anyway. So above we see Miss Frizzle (me) and Billy Mays (Joe) and I pretty much love this picture. Thanks to Gionna for catching the moment. I'll update about my unexpected visit later. And this is just a cute picture that I've seen about 5 times before but because Joe just sent it to me, it makes it look a little different.
